Mal wieder was zum Thema Videos, gerade zum ersten Mal in Gänze genossen und für gut befunden habe ich das Push me to the Floor Video von The Parlotones. Gibts schon länger, aber wer es noch nicht gesehn hat sollte das unbedingt nachholen. Auch wenn der Song nicht unbedingt eine kreative Komposition ist, das Gesamtkunstwerk mit Video gleicht das etwas aus. Bunt und fantasievoll kommt es daher, trotz eigentlich eher traurigem Thema. Rosenkrieg im Wunderland sozusagen!

The Parlotones – Come Back As Heroes wird WM Song der ARD

Come Back As Heroes heisst der Parlotones Song, der von der ARD als offizieller WM Song ausgewählt wurde – nicht ganz unpassend, immerhin sind die Herren The Parlotones aus Südafrika. Die Indie Band war zuletzt erfolgreich mit dem Song Life Design erfolgreich und sich langsam auch ausserhalb ihrer Heimat einen Namen gemacht. Ich bin ausnahmsweise mal sehr happy mit diesem WM Lied, wer meine früheren Posts zu The Parlotones gelesen hat kann sich das ja aber denken. Mehr von den Indie Rockern gibts auf ihrer Myspace Seite und natürlich auch an dieser Stelle, sobald es mehr zum Song gibt!

Nachdem ich im Sommer letzten Jahres die Parlotones zum ersten mal hörte und gleich voll Begeisterung den Song Giant Mistake hier gepostet habe, ist diese nette Band irgendwie wieder in meinem Hinterkopf verschwunden, bis ich heute dank Musiktipps24 über das Video zur neuen Single Life Design gestolpert bin. Wer mal wieder ein bißchen frische Musik braucht, sollte sich hier eine kleine Portion abholen:

Genauer gesagt Johannesburg, denn da kommen sie her, die vier Jungs von The Parlotones. Obwohl sie bereits seit 2003 musikalisch aktiv sind und schon einige Awards sammeln konnten, finden sie in unseren Gefilden bislang eher wenig Beachtung – ein Umstand der sich dringen ändern sollte. Die perfekte Balance zwischen eingängigen aber niemals eintönigen Songs und einem Sound, der sich irgendwo zwischen Snow Patrol, R.E.M., Fall Out Boy und Billy Talent bewegt, begeistert mich besonders.
