Seit meiner Jugend und meinem ersten PC bin ich großer Fan der Rennspielreihe Need for Speed. Umso erfreuter bin ich gewesen als ich das neue Need for Speed Hot Pursuit zum ersten Mal installierte und mir 30 Seconds to Mars mit Edge of the Earth zu Ohren kam. Hammer Spiel und noch besserer Soundtrack, kann es in der Vorweihnachtszeit eigentlich noch schöneres geben ? Eigenlich nicht wirklich – oder doch ? Gerade bin ich über eine top gepflegte Liste aller jemals in Need for Speed spielen enthaltenen Musiktracks gestoßen. Man muss zwar etwas umständlich die einzelnen Spiele durchgehen, aber – hey – so what ? Für einen NFS Freund wie mich natürlich super praktisch. 30 Seconds to Mars setzen ihre Tour übrigens mit einige weiteren Konzerten in den USA fort.

30 Seconds to Mars nehmen das Thema Musikvideos schon immer sehr ernst und so entsteht in ihrer Fanbase jedesmal ein besonders ungeduldiges Warten auf neue Werke. Diese Woche erschien das Video, ein 13 Minuten langes Werk das vorher durch zahlreiche Teaser angekündigt wurde. Übrigens nicht ohne (vor allem im prüden Amerika) mit Zensur zu kämpfen. Alles wegen ein bißchen Sex und Gewalt. Aber die Kritiker überschlagen sich und bezeichnen das ganze als episches Werk das seine Zuschauer sprachlos zurücklässt…. Ja, es ist ein gutes Video. Aber soviel Trara um ein Musikvideo, ist das wirklich nötig? Ich finde nicht. Entscheidet selbst (Songtext gibts unten)!

Lady Gaga Cover Marathon

Ich habe einen kleinen Tick was Cover Versionen angeht (siehe Rock Cover Playlist), immer wieder faszinierend wie verschieden man Songs interpretieren kann. Lady Gaga beispielsweise hat eine Menge guter Songs geschrieben (bekommen?), aber die musikalische Umsetzung ist nicht so ganz meins. Das haben sich wohl noch andere gedacht, denn Youtube ist voll mit Cover Versionen von Lady Gaga Songs. Hier ein kleines Mix:

… und ist ausserdem mein Song der Woche. Ein richtiger 30 Seconds To Mars Kracher vom This is War Album. Ein offizielles Video gibts auch schon, aber da das sicher wieder sofort rausgenommen wird, nehme ich lieber die Rock am Ring Version, zum Glück sind die Herren ja eine gute live Band.
